Our new Site Representative, Melissa Baxter, will be monitoring all of our Bay Area project locations on a regular basis. A graduate of San Diego State University, Melissa brings an environmental passion to her work, along with extensive experience in waste reduction, recycling and zero waste. Melissa will be working with our customers to ensure a thorough understanding of the recycling programs, and to help keep their programs running smoothly. May 2010
Synergis recycled 66 tons of construction debris this month for our clients, saving them thousands of dollars. April 2010Synergis is working with Reckson/SL Green to improve recycling programs at NY area office building. March 2010Synergis signs agreement with Colliers International to manage garbage and recycling services at the Sand Creek Crossing Shopping Center. February 2010Synergis is now providing sustainability consulting to the Business Council of Westchester, to support their participation in the Westchester Green Business Challenge. Synergis now combines our waste reduction expertise with other local professionals to provide sustainability consulting services to area businesses and not-for-profits. Organizations benefit with lower operating costs and greener facilities. January 2010Synergis recycled over 1 million pounds of construction debris in 2009, including two LEED projects, while reducing greenhouse gases by over 270 metric tons. Recycling construction debris also saved our clients $25,000 compared to disposal costs. When these materials are made into new products – they save energy and conserve our supply of natural resources. Synergis renews Harbor Bay Landing contract – reducing trash costs by $56,000/year. Synergis renewed its contract to manage the Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center recycling and solid waste program. This 116,000 square foot retail and office center recycles 43% of its discarded material, and saves $56,000 per year on disposal costs. December 2009Synergis developed the newly launched Westchester Green Business Challenge at http://climatechange.westchestergov.com/. The Westchester Green Business Challenge was launched this month. Synergis developed this program for the Business Council of Westchester and Westchester County. The Challenge provides tools to local business to enable them to operate more sustainably and reduce their generation of greenhouse gases. 40 companies have already registered to take the Challenge!
